The Wandsworth Hearing Support Service (WHSS) is here to help all deaf children and young people in Wandsworth from birth to 25 years of age. We provide education, support, and oversight to over 400 deaf children and their families in the borough. We provide specialist education, help them make informed choices about learning and development, and offer support for everyone in the family.

Our team of experienced Qualified Teachers of the Deaf, many of whom have additional qualifications, can provide training and guidance on all aspects of deafness. We work collaboratively with families, education, and health professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for all deaf children and young people.

Our outreach team are responsive and adaptable, seeing children in a variety of settings including:

  • Home
  • Nursery
  • School
  • Colleges
  • Work placement
  • Audiology clinics

We have  Hearing Support Centres for both Primary and Secondary age students, providing specialist support for pupils whose primary need is deafness.

We also offer sessions and events at our state of the art  Isobel Family Centre.
