Friend’s Forever Garden Opening

Thursday the 19th of October saw the  official opening of the Friends  Forever Garden at Linden Lodge School. The garden was opened by Lille Collins;   sister to Isabel  Collins who left Linden Lodge last year and Arit  Anderson who presents on Gardener’s World and is a renowned garden designer.

The Friends Forever Garden is a garden space located within our woodland walk area at the back of the school. It was designed and built by a group of parents whose children currently attend or used to attend Linden Lodge. The parent’s   aspiration for the garden is for pupils to write messages to their friends and place them within the garden. These messages can then be read whenever any of the current pupils want to hear messages from their friends which is wonderful.
The garden was completed at the beginning of July 2017, which enabled the   students leaving the school at the end of the last academic year, to leave their messages, which was of great comfort to both those writing them and those  reading them.

The plants within the Friends Forever Garden were on display at the 2017 RHS Chelsea Flower Show and were kindly donated to Linden Lodge once the show had finished. We were thrilled to receive them and it is wonderful that they are now flourishing within their new home and having such a positive impact on the children, young people and the Linden Lodge community.

We are very lucky to have such a dedicated parent group at Linden Lodge and our thanks go out to all those parents who were directly involved with the Friend’s Forever Garden and the companies and suppliers that donated all of the materials. Without all of their generosity the garden would not have been created.
