The visit marks the beginning of a very exciting new link for our science students that will enable them, through Linden Lodge’s Minerva Centre, to attend lessons and complete accreditations based at the academy.

    Minerva B visit the Natural History Museum

    On Wednesday the 24th of April, Minerva B class visited the Natural History Museum for a behind the scenes tour. As part of our new link we have established with the museum through our science curriculum, the class were able to meet some of the scientists that work at the museum and explore, through touch, some wonderful and amazing objects that have been 3D printed including model of the world famous Dippy the Dinosaur’s head.

    Fukushima Youth Orchestra

    On Thursday we were very privileged to host the Fukushima Youth Sinfonietta Orchestra from Japan. 45 young musicians performed for our students as part of a cultural exchange. We also provided a performance through a quartet of Linden Lodge musicians. Linden Lodge pupils were invited to ask questions about Japan and vice versa to learn more about each other. We gave our guests a beautiful set of greeting cards and a scroll made by Linden Lodge...

    Resonant Tails

    We are excited that this week Linden Lodge took delivery of our newest piece of technology equipment. It was the console of Resonant Tails. It will be used in the Sensory Suite and staff will begin to be trained to use it after the Easter break. Students will be able to use their vocalisations and any sounds they make to gain immediate resonant feedback in a variety of effects in addition to controlling lights and each of the two detachable...

    Aled Jones visits Linden Lodge

    This week we welcomed Aled Jones, Presenter of Songs of Praise through his connection with The Amber Trust. Students from the Harris Centre took part in a session with Aled and Professor Adam Ockleford of the Amber Trust. Derek Paravacini provided the piano accompaniment. The session will go on air on 18 April on Global Music’s Make Some Noise
